We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient care based on physical, psychosocial, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the guests/patients served.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nursing colleagues, and other members of the healthcare team regarding patient status and rendered care.
- Take initiative to improve job performance and create new opportunities for growth and development.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
- Participate in Unit/Department Performance Improvement activities.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Completion of Meridian Nursing Assistant Program or current Certified Nursing Assistant certification or current Nursing Student, having completed fundamentals in nursing clinical rotation or equivalent bedside nursing experience.
- Experienced or certified in phlebotomy and checking EKG, vital signs, and blood sugar preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- At least one (1) year PCT or CNA experience in a hospital setting.
