Patient Care Technician Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care based on individual needs, including physical, psychosocial, and educational requirements.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective and safe patient outcomes.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues to ensure seamless care.
- Take initiative to improve job performance and contribute to a positive work environment.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaboration to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Contribute to unit/department performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Completion of Meridian Nursing Assistant Program or current Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
- Equivalent bedside nursing experience, such as home health aides, military hospital corpsman, or Emergency Medical Technician.
- Preferred: experienced or certified in phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs, and blood sugar checks.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
- Strong sense of accountability, teamwork, and dedication to ongoing education.
- At least one year of PCT or CNA experience in a hospital setting preferred.
