Job Title: Divisional EMR Specialist

CommuniCare Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Divisional EMR Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as maintaining accurate and confidential resident medical records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and annual audits of paper and electronic medical records to ensure compliance with established processes.
  • Collaborate with facility management teams, regional, and corporate teams to identify and resolve medical records issues.
  • Coordinate training and competency assessments for newly onboarded Medical Records Specialists.
  • Prepare resident medical records for release in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Function within the scope of professional practice guidelines and all other disciplinary standards of practice.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and professional standards for resident medical records.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
  • Basic computer literacy and skills.
Work Environment:

Field-based work required with occasional overnight travel. May work beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and holidays when necessary.
