About the Role

This is a remote position with HerMD, a company seeking a full-time Revenue Cycle Specialist to oversee medical billing, employee and patient questions related to insurance and billing, and serve as the primary escalation point for outsourcing partner(s) regarding billing, payment posting, A/R follow-up for healthcare claims, and timely resolution of patient balances.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare medical bills, review service charges, and verify patient insurance to ensure accurate claim submission.
  • Serve as escalation point for outsourcing partner(s) to quickly and accurately respond to billing questions, payment posting, and A/R resolution.
  • Collaborate with patients to ensure patient responsibility is remitted timely, including setting up payment plans for outstanding balances.
  • Address revenue cycle-related correspondence and work with payers to convert to electronic communications, including new EDI enrollments.
  • Perform regular chart and claim audits to ensure compliance with billing and coding best practices.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and resolution to minimize denials.
  • Reconcile patient balances and generate regular patient statements.
  • Work pre-collections reports and assist with internal collections efforts as needed.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of medical billing experience.
  • Experience in patient-facing interactions (e.g., customer service, scheduling / registration, or billing).
Preferred
  • 5+ years of medical billing experience in Gynecology.
  • Surgical coding experience.
  • Experience in multiple EMRs and Practice Management systems (EPIC, Klareo, ModMed).
