Position Overview:

The Robotics Engineer for Uncrewed Systems will play a pivotal role in advancing the research and innovation of robotic and unmanned technologies across diverse operational fields and mission objectives. This position requires collaboration between software and hardware disciplines to conceptualize, construct, evaluate, and showcase novel robotic functionalities that tackle intricate client challenges in areas such as sensing, autonomy, and human-machine interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in robotics engineering tasks, which include the implementation of software and control mechanisms, integration or repair of hardware components like actuators and sensors, and ensuring optimal functionality and performance.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the design, development, execution, assessment, and support of uncrewed and autonomous vehicle systems.
  • Exhibit proficiency in constructing, diagnosing, and rectifying mechanical and electrical systems, documenting their configurations, and modifying designs as necessary.
  • Maintain a Secret clearance to access classified information.
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the detailed design and production of uncrewed underwater vehicles tailored to performance specifications.
  • Familiarity with design, modeling, and simulation software such as MATLAB, Simulink, SolidWorks, or MagicDraw.
  • Ability to derive and populate state space models for vehicle dynamics, including pose and force analysis.
  • Expertise in managing coordinate reference frame transformations and translations, particularly from Body to NED.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline is preferred; a Master's degree in these fields is advantageous.

Security Clearance:

Selected candidates will undergo a security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information; a Secret clearance is mandatory.
