Fire Sprinkler System Technician Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler System Technician to join our team at Pye-Barker Fire & Safety. As a Fire Sprinkler System Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire sprinkler systems in commercial and residential buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler systems
  • Service and inspect wet, dry, and pre-action fire suppression systems
  • Install, maintain, repair, or replace fire sprinkler equipment and systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner
  • Install or upgrade fire sprinklers in commercial and residential buildings
  • Test and repair alarm systems
  • Perform inspections to ensure alarms are installed according to code
  • Complete detailed inspection reports and document any issues
  • Protect and maintain company equipment
  • Inspect and maintain the company vehicle and related equipment
  • Work in a safe manner and follow company safety procedures
  • Respond to emergency service calls
  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience with fire sprinkler systems
  • Experience with commercial and residential systems
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Must have a clean driving record and reliable transportation
  • Must be flexible with scheduling requirements
  • Requires knowledge of principles and practices of fire safety
  • Requires knowledge of codes and regulations related to the work
  • Requires ability to interpret, apply, and explain applicable laws, codes, and regulations
  • Requires ability to maintain accurate records and reports
