Safety Coordinator Job Summary

The Safety Coordinator will report to the Senior Safety Manager and support personnel across all departments. This role is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate work-related incidents to determine cause and contributing factors.
  • Develop mitigation measures and corrective actions to reduce the risk of hazards.
  • Conduct or facilitate training and education programs for supervisory and field employees.
  • Administer recordkeeping and documentation for compliance with safety training policies.
  • Recommend safe work processes and demonstrate personal protective equipment safety features.
  • Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are fit-for-purpose and functional.
Requirements:
  • 3-4 years of Electric Utility Safety Coordinator experience.
  • Associates degree or equivalent related work experience.
  • Knowledge of substation safe work practices and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to consider costs, risks, and benefits of potential actions.
  • Ability to actively listen and identify complex problems.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BCSP certifications.
  • OSHA 500/510 certification.
Work Environment:

This role operates in a field environment and requires extended periods of physical activity, including bending, squatting, climbing, and lifting.
