Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve...
  • Assisting in Manufacturing Process Engineering activities, particularly in Dimensional Control for the Body Department.
  • Promoting continuous enhancements in safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Utilizing engineering principles and analytical methods to refine manufacturing processes and products.
  • Creating action plans to address and prioritize quality issues, ensuring corrective measures are implemented for both internal and supplier processes.
  • Leading process audits to maintain adherence to Vehicle Operations standards.
  • Conducting ergonomic evaluations and implementing necessary corrective actions.
  • Investigating root causes of vehicle inventory issues and developing strategies to mitigate them.
  • Producing process documentation and instruction sheets that support quality initiatives.
  • Delivering effective processes and tools for Body operations.
  • Taking a leading role in resolving assembly-related challenges and spearheading variability reduction and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Ensuring compliance with Plant, Corporate, Governmental, and Environmental regulations.
  • Supporting ISO 14001 compliance and participating in internal ISO audits as needed.
  • Fostering continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity within the Body department.
  • Identifying throughput limitations and driving improvements to address root causes.
  • Employing industry-standard processes and tools to plan, design, manage, and utilize gauges for component and assembly measurement.
  • Applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance principles effectively.
  • Interpreting data from inspection tools and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Ensuring proper gauge calibration, certification, and repeatability.
  • Determining locators and measurement points accurately.
  • Verifying compliance with tolerance and engineering specifications.
  • Developing dimensional, product, and process control plans.
  • Conducting machine process capability analyses.
Qualifications

To be successful, you will need...
  • Education: High School Diploma.
  • Experience: Over 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities alongside strong interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience in:
    • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Problem-solving techniques such as 8D and 5Why.
    • Lean Tools including 5S, Kanban, Poka-yoke, and Value Stream Mapping.
    • DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) Project Methodologies.
    • TQM and Kaizen approaches.
    • FMEA, PPAP, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
    • Visual Factory Management principles.
    • Knowledge and experience in ergonomic analysis.
