This position involves contributing to the introduction, education, and promotion of wine selections.

  • Engage in wine service with a strong emphasis on guest satisfaction and sales. Process beverage orders and serve wines, beers, cocktails, and other beverages while adhering to established service protocols.
  • Interact with guests to generate enthusiasm and facilitate the upselling of wine pairings for the tasting menu, as well as wine by the glass and bottle for à la carte dining.
  • Monitor dining and service areas to ensure cleanliness, proper arrangement, and quality service; maintain glassware, utensils, and equipment. Ensure optimal wine storage practices and conditions within the venue.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive wine training program.
  • Regularly demonstrate techniques and best practices for wine service and storage.
  • Continuously research new wine products and market opportunities.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with local suppliers and distributors to secure wine inventory and prevent shortages across various markets.
  • Familiarize yourself with wine management processes and relevant software (Excel, Micros, Compeat, etc.). Assist in organizing wine-related events and festivals within the venue.
  • Ensure adherence to wine management protocols at the operational level, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support the development and upkeep of opening, closing, and daily operational tasks, including wine and glassware requisition and inventory management.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly inventory assessments.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
  • Certification in wine studies from a recognized institution is advantageous.
  • Understanding of wine pairings with Indian cuisine.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of menu offerings and service protocols.
  • Capacity to follow directions, collaborate in a team setting, and maintain composure under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, self-motivation, and organizational abilities are essential.
  • This role requires standing or walking for the entirety of the shift.
  • Ability to stand and maintain a brisk pace for up to 8 hours continuously.
  • Capability to lift up to 15 lbs. consistently.
  • Occasional lifting of trays or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. may be required.
