Job Summary

Sterling Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering staff, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control strategies to optimize plant operations using automation technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Control Strategies: Develop and implement control strategies to optimize plant operations using automation technology.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with operations and engineering teams to enhance plant performance through effective automation solutions.
  • Document Control Systems: Create comprehensive documentation for control systems and processes.
  • Define Requirements: Define requirements for instruments, control equipment, and analyzers.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Diagnose and resolve issues with plant control systems, developing repair strategies as needed.
  • Oversee Equipment Reliability: Oversee programs to ensure the reliability and performance of plant control equipment.
  • Provide Guidance: Provide guidance on procurement and application of control equipment for projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ Years of Experience in a process controls or instrument engineering role.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Reliance Electric DC drives, Benshaw RVSS, MicroMotion Mass Flow Meters.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of process industry standards and codes (NEC, NFPA etc.).
  • Proven Track Record: Proven track record supporting process controls in a production environment.
  • Additional Requirements: Experience designing for and working in classified locations, capital project development and execution, and excellent communication skills (written & verbal).
