Job Overview

Position Summary

The Medical Records Collector at Molina Healthcare plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of healthcare services by efficiently gathering medical records. This position involves proactive communication with healthcare providers to secure necessary documentation through various methods including phone calls, faxes, mail, electronic medical record systems, and direct onsite retrieval.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the annual HEDIS audit and similar initiatives by coordinating outreach efforts to providers for the collection and submission of medical records into the internal database.
  • Assist in project management tasks by collaborating with HEDIS team members to identify, pursue, and gather essential medical records and data.
  • Work closely with management to facilitate the HEDIS medical record collection process, utilizing multiple communication channels for effective outreach.
  • Engage in discussions with vendors regarding the medical record collection strategy.
  • Accumulate medical records and reports from healthcare provider offices and input data into the HEDIS application.

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in medical record collection.
  • At least one year of experience in managed care settings.
  • Basic understanding of HEDIS and NCQA standards.

Licenses and Certifications:

Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

Two years of experience in HEDIS data collection is preferred.

Certification as a Medical Record Technician is advantageous.

Work Environment:

The working conditions are generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature. The role is primarily office-based, with minimal exposure to unpleasant working conditions.
