About the Organization

The Merced County Office of Education plays a vital role in supporting the 20 school districts within Merced County by overseeing curriculum and instructional practices, alternative education programs, business services, early childhood education, technology integration, migrant education, special education, and teacher credentialing. MCOE serves as a central hub to foster partnerships among local schools, government entities, and community organizations, ensuring fiscal responsibility across all school districts in the county.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Teacher, the Educational Support Specialist II is responsible for implementing educational strategies and fostering a dynamic and supportive learning atmosphere for students enrolled in the Merced Scholars Charter and Come Back Charter Scholars programs, utilizing Spanish language skills.

Qualifications and Requirements

- Upon hiring, candidates must present TB clearance, a high school diploma, official transcripts, DMV Driving Record (H-6) printout, California driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance liability.

Qualified applicants may be invited for NCLB/ESSA testing if they meet both educational and experiential criteria.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
This role necessitates a high school diploma or an equivalent qualification, along with Title I compliance through a local assessment of knowledge and skills in instructional assistance OR an AA Degree (or higher) OR 48 semester units of college coursework accompanied by one year of experience in an educational environment.

Licenses and Certifications:
1. A valid California driver’s license is required. If utilizing a personal vehicle for work purposes, proof of liability insurance as mandated by law is necessary.
2. DMV Driver Record printout.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel applications.
4. Fluency in Spanish is essential.

Selection Process:
