Qualifications
Applicants must possess a minimum of one year of recent clinical experience, demonstrating both clinical and technical expertise in the relevant field. Previous experience in a supervisory or charge role is advantageous.
Completion of a recognized Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) or Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) training program is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
Forensic Nurse Examiners are dedicated to delivering high-quality and cost-efficient care to all forensic patients. Our FNEs foster a positive environment that enhances patient, hospital, and community satisfaction with the services rendered, while also encouraging the ongoing professional development of the Forensic Nursing program.
They are expected to demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to address the unique needs of each patient, which encompass physical, psychological, socio-cultural, spiritual, and cognitive aspects, along with functional capabilities requiring diverse practices.
Additionally, they must maintain a thorough understanding of the judicial process, relevant laws, and legal statutes related to forensic nursing. Familiarity with the Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund and its implications for forensic patient billing is essential. The role includes the creation and maintenance of forensic medical documentation. Candidates should be prepared to assess forensic patients in various settings and comply with all legal subpoenas.
