Work Schedule
15-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule, typically between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Compensation
$12 per hour
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be graduate students at Sam Houston State University.
Key Responsibilities
The individual in this position will be tasked with:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for the office, handling general administrative tasks such as copying, scanning, and managing communications.
- Overseeing marketing initiatives, including managing the Honors College website and social media platforms.
- Creating promotional materials for Honors events and updating relevant documentation.
- Assisting in the preparation and execution of various Honors events.
- Supporting the Associate Director with advising for incoming, current, and transfer students.
- Performing additional office duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A friendly demeanor, strong initiative, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Independence in work and professionalism in interactions with students, faculty, and staff.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding all records and databases.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including potential evening commitments during the academic year.
- Proficiency in basic computer software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Preferred majors include Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or Public Relations, with a background in English or Technical Communications also valued.
