Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Security Systems Installation Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of complex integrated security systems, including intrusion detection systems, access control systems, CCTV, and intercom systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install cabling, field equipment, and control equipment enclosures in customer locations according to national electric code, company, and customer guidelines.
  • Use electronic test equipment to troubleshoot complicated problems during installation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
  • Perform system checks for proper operation.
  • Knowledge of computer programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; CCTV and access control systems; media storage.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work, paying close attention to details.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, while establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to analyze information.
  • Work unsupervised to complete installation jobs and be self-motivated to complete jobs.
  • Complete and submit all necessary paperwork related to job assignments.
Requirements
  • Significant background (3+ years experience) in Digital & Analog Camera systems, Access Controls, Burglar, and intrusion Systems.
  • Understanding of the function and design of Alarm Systems.
  • Experience with IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
  • Must be computer literate, including advanced TCP/IP networking skills.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Must be able to operate a company truck with an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficient with all aspects of an operation of ADT A.I. core card access, CCTV systems, or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree or 2-year technical school program graduate preferred.
