Position Overview:

As a Packaging Equipment Specialist, you will oversee the daily functions of packaging machinery, which includes scheduling, logistics, inventory management, maintenance, and sanitation. You will collaborate with the production scheduler to align packing and shipping timelines for orders, as well as communicate the requirements for packaging materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain packaging and palletizing machinery.
  • Manage the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
  • Conduct daily inventory assessments.
  • Update and maintain the production schedule.
  • Compile daily production reports.
  • Prepare Certificates of Analysis for shipments.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the warehouse.
  • Perform flour quality testing.
  • Execute preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in using computer software applications.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Previous experience with packaging machinery, including:
    • Line setup
    • Troubleshooting
    • Quality control (sampling and testing)

Preferred Skills:

  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with operating mobile equipment such as forklifts or yard tractors; training will be provided as necessary.
  • Knowledge of inventory management.
  • Experience in sanitation practices.

Physical Requirements:

Candidates may be required to pass a physical abilities assessment and must be capable of:

  • Frequent standing, walking, twisting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching.
  • Occasionally lifting, shoveling, or carrying up to 55 pounds.
  • Occasionally pushing up to 200 pounds of force.
  • Occasionally pulling or torquing up to 210 pounds of force.

All team members must maintain a clean-shaven appearance to ensure proper fit for respiratory protection equipment.
