Job Summary

Rohrer is seeking a skilled Assembly Line Operator to join our team in a 2nd shift position. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our glue machinery and maintaining high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine Operation: Assist Gluer Operators and run setup machines during breaks, shift changes, and other time away from the machine.
  • Quality Control: Inform Gluer Operators of any issues with quality or machine while they were away and monitor the operators of the glue machinery to ensure products conform to client specifications.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory for glue and tags, and observe feeding and folding of material and gluing edges to detect machine malfunctions.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and repairing the glue machinery.
  • Configuration: Configure machine components according to requirements, such as widths, lengths, and thickness of materials and amounts of glue.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect completed cartons to verify conformance to work order specifications and adjust machine controls to correct variations.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist packers on the line to ensure they are doing their job correctly and paying close attention to the quality of products.
  • Data Entry: Enter accurate job data, such as entering counts, quality records, and inventory.
  • Continuous Improvement: Master basic Gluer Operator skills, such as straight line, auto-bottom, and straight line tuck job requirements without aid, and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
