Job Summary:

The Galaxy Restaurant is seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items according to specified recipes and standards. This role requires close collaboration with the kitchen team to ensure timely and consistent food presentation. You will also maintain a clean and organized work station at all times.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare a variety of food items, including meats, seafood, vegetables, and pastas, according to specified recipes and standards.
  • Measure and assemble ingredients for menu items.
  • Coordinate timing of food items to ensure all courses are served together.
  • Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Communicate any food shortages or equipment malfunctions to the kitchen manager.
  • Assist with inventory and stock rotation as needed.
  • Help with training and mentoring new kitchen staff.
Requirements:
  • At least 1 year of experience working as a line cook in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and recipes closely.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed.
