We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Psychiatry Medical Assistant to join our team at St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute's Macklind location. As a key member of our administrative support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our outpatient behavioral health setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to multiple psychiatrists, including completion of administrative tasks, patient correspondence, and management of schedules and wait lists.
- Retrieve and file patient information, including patient charts and lab work, and manage prescription refill requests as directed by psychiatrists.
- Manage new and existing patient paperwork related to psychiatry, including completion of FMLA paperwork and letters to patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, psychiatrists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Utilize technology to navigate and learn new systems, and provide basic medical feedback and communicate psychiatrist instructions to patients as needed.
- Medical Assistant certificate or CNA or experience equivalent preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in patient correspondence, including completion of FMLA paperwork and letters to patients, and medication refill request management.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide administrative support to multiple psychiatrists.
- Experience in a behavioral health environment preferred.
