Responsibilities
Reports to the franchise owner/manager or designee and to client supervisors and managers. Completion of a medical assistant course or comparable training is required. Licensure is not required, but some clients may require national medical assistant certification. Background screening, current health provider CPR, and hepatitis B statement or declination are also required. Two-step TB test and drug screening are necessary for this position. Work sites vary, and possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials may occur. The employee must be able to perform CPR, lift at least 30 pounds, walk up and down stairs, position patients, walk long distances, stand for prolonged periods, and use restraints and aggressive behavior management practices. Complies with ATC Marietta policies and procedures, maintains records, prepares reports, and corresponds. Knowledge of laboratory terminology and equipment is necessary. Maintains confidentiality related to patient, family, client facility, and staff in accordance with HIPAA. Provides patient care in a non-judgmental, non-discriminatory manner that considers cultural diversity and age appropriateness so that autonomy, rights, and dignity are preserved. Performs other duties as assigned.
