REPORTS TO: IT Manager
DEPARTMENT: Information Technology
STATUS: Exempt
Overview: The IT Infrastructure Specialist is accountable for the strategic provision of exceptional service for network, workstation, mobility, and business applications to all personnel while adhering to corporate IT governance. This role will provide technical expertise and consultation throughout the organization, serving as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and stakeholders to ensure that IT effectively supports business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure the security of all technological assets, collaborating with the corporate security team as necessary.
- Oversee project timelines for IT initiatives, including system updates, upgrades, migrations, and outages.
- Execute installations, patches, upgrades, and performance tuning through an approved change management process.
- Develop and implement test plans to assess the technical performance of infrastructure and systems, reporting findings and suggesting improvements.
- Conduct routine health assessments on environments based on business user requirements.
- Set up and configure hardware, load necessary software, and provide network accounts and passwords as needed.
- Troubleshoot technology-related issues, maintaining a log of required repairs and maintenance.
- Utilize PowerShell for automation of reports, tasks, and troubleshooting.
- Manage incidents and changes within the ticket management system.
- Provide technical support for system connectivity, VOIP, and other shared services.
- Support production operations for ERP, business applications, and databases, coordinating with vendors to resolve complex issues.
- Participate in after-hours support rotation as required.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of technology hardware, software, and resources.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices regarding data integrity and security.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for system administration and appropriate usage.
- Ensure adherence to computer use policies and licensing agreements.
- Maintain documentation for operating procedures and system changes to meet compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, MIS, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
- Relevant IT certifications such as MCP, MSA, MCSE, ITIL, or equivalent.
Required Skills:
- Experience with MDM, Exchange, and Teams administration.
- Proficiency in Windows Server operating systems.
- Strong organizational and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting team needs.
Physical Demands: The IT Infrastructure Specialist may spend extended periods sitting and using office equipment, which can lead to muscle strain. Occasional lifting of computer equipment and materials may be required.
Travel Requirements: 20% – 40%
Working Conditions: Standard business hours with a business casual dress code.
