Job Title: Intellectual Property Associate Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled Intellectual Property Associate Attorney to join our team at Ascendo Resources. As a key member of our IP team, you will be responsible for managing patent and trademark prosecution dockets, preparing and filing documents with the USPTO, and providing strategic IP advice to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day patent and trademark prosecution dockets, ensuring timely and effective handling of client matters.
  • Prepare and file documents with the USPTO, including applications and responses to office actions, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct comprehensive searches and prepare clearance opinions and advice for clients, utilizing your expertise in IP laws and regulations.
  • Draft and negotiate IP transaction agreements, including software agreements, to protect our clients' interests.
  • Assist in conducting IP due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, providing valuable insights to our clients.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and clients to develop effective IP strategies, leveraging your strong analytical and practical judgment skills.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IP laws and regulations, staying current with changes and developments in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia, California, DC, New Jersey, or New York.
  • A USPTO registration number or patent bar eligibility is strongly preferred.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in patent and trademark prosecution and IP transactions.
  • Excellent academic credentials and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and practical judgment skills.
