About the Role:

The Miami office of Lewis Brisbois, a leading full-service law firm, is seeking an attorney to join its Appellate Practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in appellate law, including a working knowledge of state and federal civil and appellate procedure, and excellent advocacy and writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate trial records and write effective briefs
  • Analyze and frame factual and legal issues considering the appellate standard of review
  • Conduct legal research and present oral argument
  • Handle a wide variety of civil appeals and extraordinary relief proceedings across many areas of law, including class action and mass tort, commercial litigation, construction, elder law, employment, healthcare, insurance coverage and bad faith, products liability, intellectual property, toxic torts/environmental litigation, and many others

Requirements:

  • Admission to the Florida Bar is required
  • At least two (2) to seven (7) years of appellate experience
