Intellectual Property Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled Intellectual Property (IP) Associate with 2 or more years of experience in patent and trademark prosecution, as well as IP transactions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing prosecution dockets and preparing USPTO filings. This role requires effective communication with clients and colleagues, and the ability to provide strategic IP advice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day patent and trademark prosecution dockets, ensuring timely and efficient processing.
- Prepare and file documents with the USPTO, including applications and responses to office actions, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Conduct comprehensive searches and prepare clearance opinions and advice for clients, utilizing industry knowledge and expertise.
- Draft and negotiate IP transaction agreements, including software agreements, with a focus on protecting client interests.
- Assist in conducting IP due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and clients to develop effective IP strategies, leveraging expertise and experience.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IP laws and regulations, staying current with industry developments and trends.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with a strong academic record.
- Must be licensed to practice law in Florida, Georgia, California, DC, New Jersey, or New York, with a valid USPTO registration number.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in patent and trademark prosecution and IP transactions, with a proven track record of success.
- Excellent academic credentials and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
- Strong analytical and practical judgment skills, with the ability to analyze complex IP issues and provide sound advice.
