Position Overview
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or a higher degree) is required
- A valid P.E. License is mandatory
- Proven experience in bridge design is essential
- Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, BlueBeam, Civil 3D, and/or Finite Element Analysis Software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Marine Construction is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methodologies, including:
- Comprehensive heavy lift plans that address site logistics, equipment selection, feasibility studies, custom rigging and lifting device design, hoisting and jacking systems, and crane pad/working surface design
- Formulate erection procedures or planned sequences for construction or demolition operations
- Evaluate existing structures for construction loads and/or demolition planning
- Conduct structural analysis to ensure stability during the temporary state of new bridges, viaducts, buildings, tunnels, and other structures
- Design and support excavation systems or cofferdams for subgrade construction
- Develop temporary bridges, trestles, work platforms, fall protection systems, formwork, and other components relevant to our construction operations
- Execute or review calculations and design drawings in compliance with industry codes, standards, and client-specific design criteria
- Maintain the quality and accuracy of design deliverables
- Identify design-related risks and contribute to risk mitigation strategies
- Provide support to Project Management and Estimators regarding budgets, schedules, quality control, and client communication
- Take on additional responsibilities, including on-site design engineering support, inspections, and mentoring of Engineers in Training (E.I.T.s).
