Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Assistant Store Manager to oversee the daily operations of our store. This role involves supporting store planning, operations, and marketing, while ensuring smooth and efficient implementation of systems to meet business goals.

The ideal candidate is passionate about customer service, team management, and creating a positive work environment. They will be responsible for maintaining a thorough knowledge of all flavors, products, and brand history, as well as preparing all menu items, including cones, drinks, and sundaes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all flavors, products, and brand history.
  • Understand and prepare all menu items, including cones, drinks, and sundaes.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions and fulfilling orders.
  • Master both basic and advanced register functions such as clocking in/out, processing orders, handling credit card payments, refunds, and troubleshooting connectivity issues with cash drawers and printers.
  • Prepare basic menu items like waffle cones and baked goods.
  • Accurately take cake orders, make and decorate cakes, and train employees in cake preparation.
  • Organize and oversee the cake program, ensuring all orders are precise and timely.
  • Keep the store well-stocked and organized by refilling dip cases and other food containers.
  • Replenish paper goods and supplies, store deliveries in proper locations, and manage on-site inventory procurement and storage.
  • Ensure the store is clean and presentable by maintaining counters, cabinets, dishes, utensils, and floors.
  • Clean glass surfaces, defrost dip cases, and empty garbage cans regularly.
  • Supervise a team of 15 to 50 employees by assigning tasks, writing shift "To Do" lists, managing staff productivity, and scheduling breaks.
  • Encourage excellent customer service and ensure the store remains clean through assigned tasks.
  • Complete the opening/closing checklists and assist with creating staff schedules, ensuring labor percentage goals are met.
  • Lead by example by delivering friendly, timely service, and maintaining proper product handling during each shift.
  • Ensure that all customers leave the store satisfied with their experience.
  • Support training efforts for scooping staff as directed by the Manager or Owner.
  • Manage employee orientation, training, and development programs, fostering an environment that encourages involvement and promotes job advancement.
  • Assist the Manager with store marketing plans, focusing on local community involvement through donations, catering, off-premise opportunities, and special events.
  • Ensure all employees follow store policies, including punctuality, uniform guidelines, and personal appearance standards (e.g., no visible piercings, tattoos, or smoking near the store).
  • Effectively communicate with customers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth store operations.
  • Handle and resolve customer complaints professionally and efficiently.
