The Paper Store is a premier destination for gift-giving needs, and we're committed to sharing our passion with each customer. As a Sales Associate, you'll deliver world-class service, achieve sales goals, and maintain merchandising standards in a fast-paced retail environment. You'll report directly to the Store Team Leader and other members of management.

Sales Associates are responsible for providing customers with a unique shopping experience by utilizing the G.U.E.S.T. service approach. This includes greeting and welcoming customers warmly, understanding their needs, explaining product features, suggesting additional items, and thanking them sincerely. You'll also be a TPS brand ambassador, build customer loyalty, and contribute to a positive work environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a TPS Champion by modeling the G.U.E.S.T. service approach and delivering World Class Service
  • Greeting and welcoming every customer warmly and with enthusiasm
  • Understanding customer needs by asking open-ended questions
  • Explaining product features and benefits in relation to the customers' needs
  • Suggesting additional items to build onto sales
  • Thanking the customer sincerely and inviting them to return and shop with us again

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Being a TPS brand ambassador
  • Building customer loyalty by being friendly, attentive, and respectful of customers
  • Contribute to a positive work environment with respectful, ethical behavior, and honest communication
  • Professional presentation in attire, demeanor, appearance, and compliance to company dress code
  • Supporting all sales efforts and initiatives across all business channels to maximize company sales
  • Maintaining awareness of all current promotions and processing them correctly at the Point of Sale
  • Enthusiastically participating in training and development as required
  • Preparing incoming product for the sales floor
  • Merchandising product following company visual guidelines and visual standards
  • Performing ear piercings and providing a safe, sanitary experience in accordance with state, federal, and CDC guidelines (select locations)
  • Demonstrating a fundamental knowledge of computers, systems, and programs relevant to the position
  • Maintaining store maintenance and cleanliness standards
  • Completing all other tasks as directed by store management in assigned time frame
  • Complying with all company policies and procedures

Requirements include:

  • Previous experience in specialty retail is preferred but not required
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to multitask while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business
  • Possessing an ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office and POS Systems
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Professional conduct, demeanor, and attire in compliance with company dress code
  • Ability to lift and mobilize medium to large items up to 50 lbs. while utilizing appropriate safety techniques
