About the Role

As a Police Officer at Texas Tech University, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, and staff. This position requires a strong commitment to public service and a passion for making a positive impact in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol university property on foot, by bike, or in a vehicle to observe and detect potential safety hazards and respond to calls for assistance.
  • Enforce traffic laws and regulations to ensure a safe and orderly flow of traffic on campus.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and take appropriate action to prevent future occurrences.
  • Monitor and report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and unusual incidents on campus.
  • Collaborate with other university departments to develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to their safety concerns and needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest safety and security best practices.
