Job Summary

The Motor Vehicle Operator Line Driver will be responsible for maintaining vehicles in proper working order and making deliveries on trips when necessary. This role requires minimal supervision and involves interacting with patients, visitors, and other employees in a professional and courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, visitors, and other employees.
  • Contribute to and participate in Performance/Quality Improvement activities of the assigned department.
  • Inspect assigned vehicles for fluid leaks, body damage, and deficiencies throughout the day and note any deficiencies on the vehicle log sheet.
  • Deliver items to hospital facilities and hand-deliver items to addressees.
  • Obtain signatures upon delivery and submit receipts to the office.
  • Clean and inspect vehicles, including tires, light beams, horn, and brake.
  • Assist in loading and unloading materials, equipment, and passengers.
  • Notify the Transportation Department of any problems related to license revocation/suspension, deliveries, and vehicle malfunction/damage.
  • Submit vehicle log sheets on a daily basis and prepare pre-trip inspections.
Qualifications
  • Must be 21 years old.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend a road map and prepare an accident report (MV104A).
  • Must be able to read line number eleven (11) of the New York Motor Vehicle Eye Chart with corrective glasses or contact lenses.
  • No necessary experience, will train.
  • New York State Class #4 License (Legally Required).
  • New York Defensive Driving Course Certificate (Policy Requirement).
  • High School or GED (Required).
