Incentives:
A sign-on bonus of $10,000 is available for full-time licensed Speech Pathologists, distributed in equal installments over five years, with the first payment after one year of service.

Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must be licensed by the New York State Education Department as a Speech Pathologist. Provisional certification as a NYS Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped or NYS Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) is also required. Specialized training or a minimum of one year of experience in treating individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Additionally, candidates should hold a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

Responsibilities:
As a Speech Pathologist, your essential functions will include:
  1. Overseeing the operation of speech/language sessions.
  2. Collaborating with the Interdisciplinary Treatment Team to develop and evaluate Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  3. Assessing clients' communication abilities and implementing tailored service plans.
  4. Providing direct speech services to children and adults in various programs.
  5. Participating in professional development and in-service training as required.
  6. Consulting with families and other professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  7. Maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.

Professional Development:
All therapists are responsible for maintaining their certifications, including NYS and ASHA requirements. Continuous professional development is essential, with a requirement of 30 continuing competency hours every three years.

Work Environment:
This position operates in a professional office setting, clinical environments, and classrooms, utilizing standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements:
The role may involve lifting, pushing, or pulling weights exceeding 30 pounds. Regular communication and interaction with clients are integral to the position.
