Job Summary

Milliken, a global manufacturing leader, is seeking a skilled Control Equipment Technician to join its team. As a key member of the Engineering Services department, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical systems of production and facility equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gauges, and test equipment.
  • Reinstall guards and safety equipment correctly after completion of any work.
  • Ensure D.C. / A.C. motors, breakers, and other equipment switches are in good working order.
  • Read electrical drawings and ensure electrical components of machinery are operating properly.
  • Assist other engineering associates to perform work as required to keep production machinery and auxiliary equipment in working order.
  • Inform appropriate management and maintenance/production associates of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involved.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate a high level of safety consciousness and fully participate in the Milliken Safety Process.
Qualifications:
  • Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship program or the equivalent in an electrical-related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including PC hardware components, desktop operation system software, and application software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

The successful candidate will demonstrate skills in the following:

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Able to work well with various groups of people, such as vendors, customers, and Milliken associates, whether individually or in a team environment.
  • Able to work well and communicate with production associates to assist with repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Able to lift and move objects of 50 pounds and be capable of using motorized equipment (fork trucks, tuggers, etc.).
