Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Therapist to join our team at Mood Treatment Center. As a licensed therapist, you will conduct diagnostic assessments and provide therapy to individuals of various ages, from children to older adults.

Our therapists work in a HIPPA-compliant telemedicine and in-person format, managing crisis intervention while providing psychoeducation and referrals as needed. You will maintain a 75% caseload of total hours worked and have the opportunity to attend consultation groups to develop your knowledge and skills.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial assessments to gather psychosocial and mental health history
  • Assess patients' emotional and mental health, developing treatment plans accordingly
  • Intervene with emergency care techniques and protocols when patients are in crisis
  • Provide evidenced-based services within the scope of practice
  • Provide referrals for additional care or services
  • Maintain confidential notes/records using our electronic medical records
  • Carry a clinical caseload, either online or face-to-face, while maintaining required productivity levels
  • Complete and sign therapy notes within 48 hours of appointments and sign charge slips day-of treatment
  • Consult with internal and external community providers concerning treatment
Qualifications and Skills
  • Extensive knowledge of mental health conditions and best practices for psychological treatment
  • Well-developed listening and interview skills
  • Strong oral communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to develop effective treatment plans
  • Organization skills to maintain up-to-date, easy-to-navigate patient files
  • Familiarity with privacy, health, and safety laws
  • Computer skills to operate record-keeping, scheduling, email, and word processing software
Education and Experience
  • Professional License in good standing with the state of North Carolina (LCP or LCSW)
  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field
