Engineering Project Manager – Biogas Systems
Join Tetra Tech, a company that is Leading with Science, as we seek an Engineering Project Manager specializing in biogas systems to enhance our Engineering Team in Southern California.

In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in the planning, design, permitting, and construction of biogas and landfill gas systems, solid waste management facilities, and various environmental initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with Client Managers and Engineering Managers across the organization, overseeing the work of engineers, scientists, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

This position entails a mix of office work and occasional site visits, along with client interactions. The compensation for this role ranges from $120,000 to $160,000, depending on qualifications and experience.

Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct technical evaluations of biogas and solid waste projects in California and the Western United States.
- Engage in all project phases from investigation to construction/remediation, including the creation of drawings, plans, specifications, reports, bid documents, and certifications.
- Design systems for biogas collection, leachate management, stormwater/surface water management, and liner systems.
- Prepare construction plans and specifications.
- Effectively manage projects, timelines, and budgets.
- Develop proposals and engage with clients and regulatory bodies.
- Analyze systems to meet operational goals and regulatory standards.
- Prepare permit documentation for new site developments, modifications, and closures.
- Supervise construction projects to ensure compliance with engineering and regulatory standards.
- Co-author or publish research papers in your field of expertise.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Geological, or Environmental Engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience in engineering project management.
- Civil Professional Engineering certification (Civil PE) in California or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or GIS.
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is advantageous.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical reports, financial documents, and legal texts.
- Skilled in writing environmental reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
- Capable of responding to inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or the business community.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and mentor technical and support staff.
- Experience with biogas and landfill gas systems and the solid waste sector is a plus.
- Proven technical expertise in design and/or construction.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and PDF editing software (Bluebeam or Adobe).
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and integrity.
- Solid organizational and time management abilities.
- Self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Valid driver's license.
