We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer - Controls and Automation Specialist to join our team at Hire Military Talent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, specifying, and implementing control and automation systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development: Design and develop control systems and instrumentation equipment, including electrical control panels, to meet the needs of our clients.
- Analysis and Troubleshooting: Conduct analytical assessments and troubleshooting to identify and resolve issues with control systems and instrumentation equipment.
- Project Management: Initiate and lead projects independently, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
- Installation and Commissioning: Assist with installation and commissioning tasks, including testing and validation of control systems and instrumentation equipment.
- System Upgrades and Modifications: Modify and upgrade existing systems to improve performance and efficiency.
- Software and Hardware Expertise: Familiarity with PLC/SCADA software, including Siemens Step 7/WinCC/TIA Portal and Rockwell Automation/Allen Bradley RSLogix5000 and FactoryTalk.
- Programming and Coding: Background in computer programming, including languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
- Hazardous Area Equipment: Understanding of hazardous area equipment and installation requirements, including ATEX, IECEx, NEC, NFPA, and other relevant codes and standards.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of DNV, ABS, API, and MODU codes/standards, as well as other industry-specific regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Electronic & Electrical/Controls/Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong background in electrical engineering, controls, and automation.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication and report writing skills, proactive problem-solving approach, proficiency in various computer skills, including the use of MS-Office Suite, and working knowledge of CAD and similar design software.
