Job Title: Graduate Electrical Engineer

Dashiell is a leading provider of technical services to the electric utility, power generation, industrial, renewable, and energy industries. Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a member of a project team, you will perform engineering and design duties, applying engineering principles to create design documents and drawings. You will work closely with our team to develop your skills and knowledge in electrical engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with project teams to create design documents and drawings, including wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and field mark-ups of project as-built drawings.
  • Perform engineering support tasks, such as relay burden, lighting, simplified load flow, and short circuit calculations.
  • Learn and apply engineering application software to complete engineering tasks, such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and load flow and short circuit studies.
  • Meet engineering and design effort project schedule requirements.
  • Learn and apply engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Learn and properly use the document management system.
  • Learn and apply corporate standard engineering practices.
  • Gain hands-on knowledge and additional training in substation construction and design.
  • Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
  • Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party.
  • Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Power focus preferred.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain EIT certificate within one year of date of hire.
  • Prior internship and/or related work experience in the power field preferred.
  • Skills in electrical AC/DC fundamentals, basic knowledge of three-phase power systems, leadership, problem-solving, analytical skills, communication, and common software applications.
Physical Requirements:

This position requires minimal physical effort. You must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a day. You will primarily work indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to year-round weather conditions and noise. You must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%). Working extended hours, including weekends, may be required periodically. You may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
