Job Title: Donation Center Attendant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Donation Center Attendant to join our team at Memphis Goodwill Incorporated. As a key member of our donation processing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our donation centers.

Job Summary:

The Donation Center Attendant is responsible for accepting and sorting donations from the public, issuing receipts if requested, and processing donations until they are picked up by a Goodwill truck. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greets and assists donors with donations upon arrival, providing a positive and welcoming experience.
  • Processes donations according to established procedures, ensuring that items are properly sorted and stored.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Assists with loading and unloading trucks, ensuring that donations are properly secured and transported.
  • Provides excellent customer service, responding to donor inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Works collaboratively with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
