The Albany Medical College Department of Surgery Division of Transplant is seeking a highly qualified Director for the Transplant Immunology Laboratory (TIL). As a key member of the Department of Surgery, the successful candidate will be responsible for directing the TIL, supporting clinical renal transplant programs, and collaborating with the Center for Donation and Transplant OPO.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct the TIL and ensure the delivery of high-quality clinical testing and operational activities.
- Support the clinical renal transplant programs at Albany Medical Center Health System and University of Vermont Medical Center.
- Collaborate with the Center for Donation and Transplant OPO to provide testing services.
- Assess and introduce new technologies to the laboratory.
- Engage in scholarly activity, teaching, and management of the laboratory's finances and Medicare cost reporting.
- MD, DO, or PhD in immunology or a related science from an accredited institution.
- Board certification by the American College of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ACHI).
- Certificate of Qualification in Histocompatibility from the NYSDOH CLEP.
The successful candidate will have an academic appointment within the Albany Medical College Department of Surgery, Division of Transplantation. Academic rank and compensation will be dependent upon qualifications, experience, and track record of accomplishments in service, education, and academic activities.
