Laser Cataract Surgery Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Laser Technician to join our team at UCHealth. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will play a critical role in assisting eye care providers with cataract surgeries and other ophthalmic procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Operate Laser Equipment: Under the direct supervision of eye care providers, you will operate a LenSx laser system used for cataract surgeries, ensuring precision and accuracy in each procedure.
- Order Intraocular Lenses: You will be responsible for ordering intraocular lenses for multiple cataract surgeons, maintaining accurate records and ensuring timely delivery.
- Provide Excellent Patient Care: You will collaborate with the Operating Room team to manage patient flow, provide a warm and empathetic environment for patients, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist with Minor Procedures: Under the direct supervision of eye care providers, you will assist with minor procedures, prescription refill process, and other tasks delegated by the provider.
- Education: High School diploma or GED.
- Certifications: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) or National Contact Lens Examiner Certification (NCLEC) if performing as a contact lens technician. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider.
- Experience: 2 years sponsored on the job ophthalmic training, or ophthalmic internship.
