Job Title: Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing respiratory care plans, and providing education to patients and families. You will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery and excellent patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess patient needs and develop respiratory care plans
  • Provide education to patients and families on respiratory care and disease management
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Operate specialized ventilators and equipment
  • Provide medication treatments and therapies as prescribed
  • Clean and maintain equipment to ensure proper functionality
  • Facilitate clinical problem-solving and collaborate with other departments
Requirements:
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license issued by the state in which you practice
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 12 months
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with a minimum of an associate degree
