  • Prepare and route lab specimens to the correct laboratory.
  • Respond to patient questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Check and respond to nurse line messages and to-do lists.
  • Calibrate, clean, sterilize, and inventory equipment and instruments according to schedule.
  • Maintain medication supplies, discard expired supplies, and keep accurate records.
  • Maintain infection control and ensure supply rooms and cabinets are stocked.
  • Order, sort, restock, and inventory all supplies.
  • Document all medical instructions given to patients and review wound care with patients as needed.
  • Administer injections and anesthesia for procedures.
  • Ensure all phone messages, faxes, and interdepartmental mail are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and adhere to all relevant regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Able to triage patient problems and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Familiar with and compliant with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Blood Borne Pathogen Standards.
  • Experience measuring vital signs and preparing patients for appointments.
  • Experience administering injections and knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 codes.
  • Knowledge of office financial policies and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers, fax machines, copiers, and scanners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and fluency in English.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, patients, and visitors.
  • Ability to travel to satellite offices as needed.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work well individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to spell, sort, and file materials correctly alphabetically or numerically.
Licensure/Certifications/Education:
  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant Program, Certified Nursing Assistant program, or completion of a bachelors degree program in the pre-med or pre-physicians assistant track preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • 1-2 years of recent experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, or other clinical patient care experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in Dermatology is preferred.
