Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant in our Cardiology office, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical staff. Your primary responsibilities will include acquiring new patient paperwork and medical records from outside clinics to review for cardiac information. You will also be responsible for obtaining vital signs and general health information for patient charts, preparing patients for examinations, and assisting providers as needed.
Additionally, you will be responsible for collecting laboratory specimens and performing tests as ordered by the provider, entering and recording patient information in the medical record, and assisting front desk staff with patient check-in and check-out processes.
You will also be responsible for ensuring prior authorizations are in place, obtaining required signatures, and collecting co-payments. Your excellent communication and organizational skills will be essential in managing patient schedules, incoming and outgoing referrals, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications:
Must be a graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program. Associates Degree preferred, but not required. Experience assisting providers with patient care and previous scheduling, registration, and collections experience is highly preferred. Experience with the Epic EMR system and office skills is also required.
