Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Loveland. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting the community, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to detect and deter illegal activities, and to preserve and protect the safety and security of persons and property.
  • Respond to calls for service, gather information, and make arrests as necessary.
  • Enforce laws and ordinances, and monitor and enforce traffic codes.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with the public in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest laws, procedures, and technologies.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 90 quarter hours or 60 semester credit hours from an accredited college or university.
  • Must have a Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) certification from an approved academy or provisional certificate by hire date.
  • Must be able to pass a physical ability test and a background investigation.

The Police Officer will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with frequent exposure to stressful and potentially hazardous situations. The officer must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to communicate effectively with the public and other law enforcement agencies.
