Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Records Specialist to join our team at the City of Loveland. As a Records Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of police incidents, arrests, and other law enforcement activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transcribe and process police reports, including arrest/booking paperwork, incident reports, and other associated documents
  • Enter data into the Records Management System (RMS) and ensure accuracy and completeness of records
  • Review and edit officer-generated reports for quality control
  • Provide customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and requests for information
  • Assist with training and development of new Records Specialists and other department personnel
Requirements
  • Three years of extensive office and public contact experience in a high-volume and high-stress setting, preferably in a law enforcement-related field
  • Ability to acquire working knowledge of the Colorado Revised Statutes, City Ordinances, and Model Traffic Codes
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral form
  • Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and according to applicable laws and department directives
Working Environment

The Records Specialist will work in a normal office environment with moderate to intense levels of noise and interruption. The position requires extended hours of sitting in an office setting, conducting repetitive keyboard motions, and frequent contact with internal and external customers requesting assistance.
