Job Overview

The Financial Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the accounting functions within the organization. This position requires exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills, both written and verbal. The Financial Operations Manager will collaborate closely with the Controller and other senior leadership to produce comprehensive internal financial reports. These reports will encompass financial statements related to cash flow, income, taxes, earnings, inventory, and investments, as well as assist in auditing activities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a key point of contact between departments to facilitate efficient operations.
  • Assist in various aspects of financial management.
  • Work alongside the Accounting Department on Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Collections.
  • Support project managers with financial oversight to ensure accurate billing and job costing.
  • Supervise purchasing and receiving processes to guarantee correct job allocation, aiding in precise job costing.
  • Contribute to the formulation of internal controls and policies aimed at improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness in finance and project management.
  • Oversee journal entries, invoices, and account reconciliations during monthly and annual closing periods.
  • Assist in developing budgets and forecasts for individual projects.
  • Review project financial data to identify and rectify discrepancies.
  • Maintain knowledge of various contract structures.
  • Ensure timely completion of bank and credit card reconciliations each month.
  • Monitor credit card expenditures for accurate entry and allocation.
  • Support the Controller in preparing financial reports and relevant data for management review.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Controller and Senior Management.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience as a Financial Controller, managing accounting and finance operations for businesses with significant revenue.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline.
  • At least 10 years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP, with substantial involvement in month-end closing processes; CPA certification is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Preferred proficiency in Sage 100 software.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to foster cross-functional relationships.
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.

Supervisory Role

This position oversees all departmental employees and is responsible for their performance management.


Work Schedule

This is a full-time role, with standard working hours from Monday to Friday.
