About the Opportunity
This WAF Engineer will develop, support, tune, and deploy advanced web application security solutions, including WAFs and DDOS mitigation. You will engineer, deploy, and operate robust security solutions, leveraging scripting in Python, shell, and other languages as necessary. In this role, you will:
- Engineer, configure, deploy, and maintain Web Application Firewall solutions
- Develop advanced scripts for manipulation of multiple data repositories to support analyst requirements
- Develop advanced alerts/reports to meet the requirements of key stakeholders
- Collaborate with key stakeholders within Cybersecurity and Engineering teams to develop use cases to address specific business needs
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have 3+ years' experience as a Security Engineer with strong focus on Akamai WAF platforms, understanding of OWASP risks, vulnerabilities, and mitigation mechanisms, and expertise in exploiting web apps and web services security vulnerabilities. Additionally, you should have proficiency in system exploits, knowledge of common network and web protocols, and familiarity with event logs and alerts from various data sources. Your salary will be $120,000 to $131,000 based on your location, relevant experience, the external labor market, and the pay of College Board employees in similar roles.
