About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Technician III to join our team at DispatchHealth Management. As a Medical Technician III, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in the comfort of their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with physical exams, point of care testing, and data gathering to support patient care.
  • Work at the direction of a virtual DispatchHealth Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) while being present with patients in their homes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Perform various patient care activities, including blood draws, EKG, splints, basic wound care, and other diagnostic tests and treatments as requested by the virtual provider.
  • Provide discharge instructions in conjunction with the virtual provider and ensure patients understand their care plan.
  • Responsible for equipment use, care, and allocation, as well as restocking and cleaning equipment at the end of each shift.
Requirements
  • Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic certification (EMT-P) in the state in good standing.
  • Minimum one (1) year patient-facing experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • BLS, American Heart Association.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs easily while carrying equipment.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and technological skills.
  • Previous experience with comprehensive history gathering and documentation within an EMR.
  • Previous experience with basic procedural skills.
  • Cultural competency and ability to interact with patients and families, develop rapport, and trust.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team to deliver care with flexibility and open-mindedness.
  • Continuous learner with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule with evenings, holidays, and weekends required.
