About the Role

As a Peer Mentor Specialist Outreach Officer, you will work closely with veteran participants, providing guidance, support, and encouragement as they navigate the treatment program. Your expertise and life experience will be invaluable in helping individuals overcome obstacles and achieve success.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Attend all scheduled court sessions, actively participating in mentoring sessions and offering valuable insights and support to veteran participants.
  2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with veteran participants, fostering trust and open communication.
  3. Provide referrals to community-based resources, assisting veterans in accessing essential services and support.
  4. Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring seamless communication with the VTC Coordinator and Team Leaders.
Requirements
  • A veteran or active member of one of the branches of the United States Military, including Navy, Army, Marine Corps, Air Force, Coast Guard, or the corresponding Reserve or National Guard component.
  • A minimum of 6 months commitment to the VTC Mentoring Program.
  • Completion of the Mentor Orientation Program and any additional training required by the program.
  • No felony or misdemeanor convictions within the past five years.
