Job Summary

Madison Area Technical College is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Part-Time Instructor to teach part-time courses for the Education Pre-Major program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate student learning in the Education Pre-Major program, including courses such as Education in a Pluralistic Society.
  • Develop and plan instructional strategies and alternative delivery methods, including hybrid, face-to-face, and online course delivery.
  • Participate in in-service meetings, staff development training, and other activities or programs requested by the Department.
  • Assist and advise students with problems related to assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
  • Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing, record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, evaluating student performance, and maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling.
  • Maintain competencies as an instructor aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Education or a related area with 18 graduate credits in Education from an accredited public or private institution.
  • Knowledge of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction K-12 regulatory policy, including bilingual standards and special education criteria.
  • Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation, and collaborative techniques and strategies that address closing the gap in student access and achievement across race, gender, and disability.
  • Skill in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods.
  • Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
  • Skill in communications and human relations with populations having diverse socio-economic and racial backgrounds, as well as individuals with disabilities.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time instructor position, and teaching hours may vary and include day, evening, and weekend classes.
