Job Summary

Madison Area Technical College is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Part-Time Instructor to teach Adult Basic Education courses in Spanish. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality instruction, assessing student learning, and participating in college service activities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective learning strategies and environments for Adult Basic Education students.
  • Deliver instruction of high quality, using a variety of teaching methods and technologies.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in in-service meetings, convocation training, and staff development training.
  • Assist and advise students with academic matters, including course content, career concerns, and other academic issues.
  • Maintain competencies as an instructor, aligned with the Faculty Quality Assurance System.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the President or designee.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in ESL, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Adult Education, or Special Education, or a related field.
  • Two years of teaching experience at the elementary or secondary level, or two years of teaching adults at a Technical or Community College, or two years of teaching experience in Adult Basic Education, ESL, and/or Special Education.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of current educational methods and strategies, including learner-centered instruction, assessment, evaluation, and collaborative techniques.
  • Skill in the use of educational technology and alternative delivery methods.
  • Knowledge and ability to infuse multicultural perspectives into course content and delivery.
How to Apply

Madison Area Technical College utilizes pool postings for all Part-time Instructor positions. This posting is a pool position to collect applications for potential part-time instruction positions. Part-time Instructors are hired on a per course basis each semester, and teaching one semester does not guarantee assignment for the following semester. The teaching hours for a part-time instructor vary and can include day, evening, and weekend classes. Please note that all transcripts will be checked for verification of accreditation before hire. This pool will close on approximately January 31, 2025.
