Business Information Security Officer

The Business Information Security Officer is a critical role that requires a unique blend of business acumen, technical expertise, and leadership skills. This position will lead a team of regional Business Information Security Officers, providing independent and objective oversight and monitoring for the implementation of Cybersecurity across Sysco's operating companies.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Cybersecurity principles, policies, and procedures, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be able to translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language, facilitating bidirectional communication between operations teams globally and enterprise security.
This role will also be responsible for escalating risks and exceptions to the Cybersecurity Risk and Compliance Management Team and Change Management, as well as participating in and assisting with security incident readiness and response training & awareness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing independent and objective oversight and monitoring for the implementation of Cybersecurity across Sysco's operating companies.
- Directing and managing Security Leads across regions.
- Translating Policy(s) and Standards set forth by Cybersecurity Risk and Compliance Management Team into the environment.
- Increasing awareness and fostering accountability for security across the enterprise.
- Facilitating bidirectional communication between operations teams globally and enterprise security.
- Escalating risks and exceptions to Cybersecurity Risk and Compliance Management Team and Change Management.
- Participating in and assisting with security incident readiness and response training & awareness.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in Cybersecurity and/or information risk management.
- Knowledge and understanding of the design of operational systems and operations environments.
- Knowledge of software/firmware installed on operational systems.
- Understanding of applications running in the operations environment and resulting network traffic.
- In-depth understanding of Cybersecurity solutions and requirements within the food and service industry.
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to tailor and engage communication across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Information Systems Security Architecture Professional (ISSAP), Information Systems Security Engineering Professional (ISSEP), GIAC Response and Industrial Defense (GRID).
Language Requirements:
Fluency in written and spoken English.
Travel Requirements:
Up to 25%.
